Sufiyum Sujatayum - A Musical Tale Malayalam Movie Review

Sufiyum Sujatayum - A Musical Tale

Plot:

A Mute woman Sujatha who belongs to the upper caste Hindu girl falls in love with a Muslim priest Sufi which was opposed by Sujatha's father and make Suja marry Rajeev and they get settled in Dubai. After a few years, they're getting a message that Sufi died and the couple decides to go for Sufi's funeral ceremony.
As we all know that the Malayalam movies are great with simple & realistic film scripts that make us close to it. Here in this film too it happens so well.

Cast:

Aditi Rao Hydari as Sujata
Jayasurya as Rajeev
Dev Mohan as Sufi
Siddique as Sujata's Father
And others.

Screenplay:

You may get bored if you aren't a drama musical fanboy but believe me, performances of Aditi Rao Hydari keep pushing to get connected with their story.

Music:

As this film genre was a drama Musical M.Jayachandran's Background score and songs uplift the film to the next stage. It also creates something fresh in our mindsets.

Cinematography:

Anu Moothedath's cinematography was an added advantage for this film which beautifully showcased the mood and mindsets of character even without dialogues.

Pros:

Aditi Rao Hydari's performance. (Instead of working underrated actor in Bollywood she may do films like this)
M.Jayachandran's music

Cons:

The screenplay was bit laggy

Our Ratings: 2.25/5
